Friends of Utah: Daniel Quinteros

In February 2017, Mr. Daniel Quinteros, Fire and Emergency Rescue Chief for the Jose Joaquin de Olmedo Airport in Guayaquil, Ecuador, visited Utah to attend the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Conference & Exposition. He wanted to gain a better understanding of current and future issues affecting the EMS industry, gain knowledge and expertise to find effective solutions for the EMS industry in his country, and examine the most innovative products and services available to the industry.

Mr. Daniel Quinteros recently shared with Utah Global Diplomacy that the EMS Conference was packed with useful information that he feels can be used in his current job. He attended eight insightful breakout sessions and visited hundreds of businesses that showcased their latest editions of equipment, ambulances, and technology, which he hopes to implement back in Ecuador.

“My personal experience was awesome and very interesting, “Quinteros shares. “I made a lot of contacts for the airport where I work. I will try to incorporate the latest technologies and equipment in our day-to-day operation with Fire and Emergency Medical Services.”

Mr. Quinteros also shared that he liked Salt Lake City and had a great experience having dinner with a local family, part of our Taste of Home Hospitality program. “I hope I can visit Salt Lake City again soon!”

We also hope you visit Salt Lake City again - keep up the good work in Ecuador and please stay in touch with Utah Global Diplomacy!
