Dear Friends of Utah Global Diplomacy,
As we wrap up 2023, I can't help but reflect on a year of remarkable citizen diplomacy, especially here in Utah!
So many people from Utah joined people from around the world to have meaningful conversations and collaborative initiatives that transcended borders and addressed some of our most pressing issues. I am exceptionally proud of Utah Global Diplomacy's role in this effort. From our Ambassador John Price & Marcia Price World Affairs Symposium Series to our International Exchange Programs to our Global Leaders Scholarship Fund, 2023 underscored the pivotal role everyone plays in fostering mutual respect, understanding, and international goodwill.
That said, check out our latest issue of the Diplomat Cable to read how we ended 2023 on a high note!
However, 2024 is already shaping up to be another year of incredible impact, and the Utah Global Diplomacy team is hitting the ground running. This also means ample opportunities for you to get involved, including:
- Learn about our newest initiative, the International Leadership Academy, a career-readiness program for young adults.
- Sign up for our 10-week Citizen Diplomacy Certification to round out your resume.
- Join a conversation with CJ Hernandez about being a female foreign service officer.
- Consider being a mentor with our International Leadership Academy, or
- Consider serving on our Board of Directors.
- A host family for visiting delegations from Kosovo or high school students from Honduras, El Salvador, or Belize.
- Join our capacity-building conversation with other Utah nonprofit leaders during our monthly coffee hour.
Whatever your capacity or interest, we want to get you involved with citizen diplomacy!
Globally,
Felecia Maxfield-Barrett
