HOST OVERNIGHT AT YOUR HOME
People who host International Visitors overnight are called Host Families.
By being a host family, you will build lifelong connections by opening your doors to International Visitors for a U.S. home experience. Throughout the year, especially during the summer, you can host a high school student, a young adult, or a prominent leader from across the world. Our host family needs typically last one week to five weeks, and responsibilities include providing a private bedroom, breakfast, most dinners, daily transportation, and an up-close view of daily life in a Utah home. And there is nothing greater than the tearful goodbyes that are shared at the end of the program, knowing you have made a global difference!

HOST A DINNER
People who host dinners are called Home Hosts.
When you host a dinner, you often make the biggest impact on International Visitors because they create opportunities for one-on-one conversation and a deeper appreciation for cultural commonalities. Whether a summer barbecue, a dinner shared with friends, or a simple family supper, these visits often lead to long-term friendships and offer a welcoming window for visitors during their time in the U.S. We provide opportunities to host anywhere from two visitors to a whole group. International Visitors take a ride share to and from your home, and meals usually take place in the evening and last three hours.

2. Complete the Hosting Application below.
3. Once you complete the hosting application, a Utah Global Diplomacy staff member will contact you within 48 hours to complete a criminal background check on all adults 18+ who live in the house.
4. Sign up for our newsletter! This is the best way to be in the know about hosting opportunities.
5. For host families only, a staff member will arrange a time to complete a home visit. The purpose of the home visit is to meet you in person, see the hosting environment, and answer any additional questions you may have about the program and hosting.
