Music has the power to transcend borders, bridge cultures, and create understanding where words alone cannot. Throughout history, it has served as a tool of diplomacy, strengthened international relationships, and brought people together across political, cultural, and linguistic divides.

Join Utah Global Diplomacy and the Utah Chamber Music Festival for Music Without Borders, an afternoon symposium exploring the intersection of music, cultural exchange, and international engagement.

Through engaging conversations, panel discussions, and historical perspectives, the symposium will examine how artists, educators, diplomats, and cultural leaders use music to foster dialogue, build trust, and strengthen communities around the world.

    Topics May Include

    • Music as a tool of diplomacy and cultural exchange

    • International artistic collaboration

    • Historical moments when music shaped global events

    • The role of arts organizations and universities in international engagement

    • Utah's growing role in cultural diplomacy

    • Opportunities for future collaboration through the arts

The afternoon symposium will conclude with an evening keynote presentation and musical performance presented in partnership with the Utah Chamber Music Festival.

Additional speakers and program details will be announced as they are confirmed.

Registration is free, but advance registration is encouraged.
